The pledge came from one of the few players who could understand why such a promise would be comforting in the first place. It came with conviction, too. And assurance.

It came with every bit of energy still within Dolphins defensive captain Vonnie Holliday after Sunday’s 20-14 loss to the Jets. Holliday promises — no, he swears — this season won’t be the same as that miserable last one, even though he knows why some might think otherwise.
